Not That Again

My job is hurting me physically. I know that sounds dramatic, but it's true. Part of my job is writing letters, lots of them, and I write them by typing them out. I can handle a moderate amount of typing without a problem, but the amount that I do is too much for my left arm. I had wrist surgery to fix torn cartilage over three years ago and the rest of my arm was damaged somewhat as a result of the injury. My arm will never be the same.

I've noticed recently that I'm feeling a type of pain and weakness in my arm that I haven't felt for a long time. And it's disheartening and a bit scary. I got my hair cut today and sitting there with my arm resting at my side I felt pain I haven't felt since before or right after my surgery.

Something has got to give. I guess I'm going to have to start dictating my letters; not a great option for a very visual person, but my arm needs a break. Just another reason for finding another job.

This really makes me sad! Would something like a wrist guard help, or some kind of brace to wear while you are typing? Kind of like the stuff they have people with carpal tunnel wear?

Makes me sad too. I think the only thing that will help is rest...at least I hope so. Not like I'm going to get much rest. I have a lot of typing to do tomorrow. I don't know what I'm going to do. And the files are really heavy. Thank goodness it's a short week. It's coming at a perfect time.
