What my shoes say about me

I'm comfortable and in southern CA. I'm wearing Rainbows, the best flip flops in the world. Lately my feet have been mad at me for getting a full time job, which means I get to wear heels practically every day. So my feet are rebelling against even the thought of putting them into shoes. Hence the Rainbows. And my feet are liking it. Tomorrow I'll be back to heels, but at least I gave my feet a break this weekend.

I'm a dog person

I love dogs! Oh, my dog just walked into my room and is now napping on my floor. Good timing, Abby! Dogs are really cute, they keep you company and they love you unconditionally. Abby is a black lab and she's great. She helped me get through law school and the bar by sitting with me while I studied, playing with me in the backyard on breaks and letting me hug her when I was overwhelmed. Dogs are truly a gift from God and I'm grateful to have Abby in my life.

Abby is the sweetest thing and she's a lot of fun. I wanted to post something new, but my brain is too tired for me to write anything more than this. So for now, enjoy looking at my cute dog.

A Whole New World

Today was my first day at work, and boy, what a day it was. The new things started hitting me immediately and kept coming throughout the day - I have an office, my Blackberry is on order, there are so many code sections and abbreviations I don't think I'll ever know any of them, I will have to dictate (what?!?) all letters and reports and my dictation machine (whatever it's called) is coming tomorrow, etc, etc, etc. I'm so tired!!! The only thing that helped me get through it was only focusing on the task at hand; whenever I found myself thinking about the future and handling things on my own I would start to feel a tightness in my chest and a sinking feeling in my gut. So, here's to taking one day at a time! Now I need to go to bed because I have to be at a fellow attorney's house tomorrow at 6:30 am (crying on the inside!) in order to make it to an 8:30 am court appearance in LA.

Stepping Onto the Ladder

Two weeks ago I said I needed to find the ladder, referring to my career, let alone get on it. Well, I got a job as an associate attorney a few days ago and I start tomorrow! It all happened so quickly and it was unexpected. So, I've found the ladder and have gotten onto the first step. It will be interesting to see what it's like to practice law. I'd better go pick out what I'm going to wear tomorrow.
